Casino Hotels

Four Canadian hotels that keep a gaming floor on the property. Each is described as a hotel first: the rooms, the setting, the restaurants and the theatres come before the casino, because for most guests that is the order in which they matter.

Montreal Casino & Hotel

The complex sits on Île Notre-Dame, on the artificial island built for Expo 67, and the main structure is a converted pavilion from that fair. The result is a hotel and entertainment property with an unusually distinctive silhouette and river views on several sides.

Guest accommodation, restaurants, bars and a cabaret-style performance space make up most of the programme. The gaming floor is one part of the building among several, spread over multiple levels; visitors also come for the dining rooms and the shows without going near it.

Parc Jean-Drapeau surrounds the site, which gives the property something most urban hotels do not have — open ground, cycling paths and the Formula 1 circuit within walking distance. Downtown Montreal is a short drive across the bridge.

Fallsview Casino Resort

Built into the escarpment above the Horseshoe Falls, Fallsview is arranged so that a large share of its rooms and public space face the water. The elevation is the whole point of the address; the falls are visible from the windows rather than from a viewpoint down the road.

The resort holds a hotel tower, a theatre that books touring acts, a spa, a retail galleria and a broad range of restaurants. Conference and event space occupies a substantial floor area. Gaming is one department within that mix, not the sum of it.

Because it connects to the Fallsview tourist district, guests can reach the Niagara Parkway, the observation towers and the boat landing without moving a car. Winter brings the illumination programme, which the higher rooms see clearly.

River Rock Casino Resort

River Rock stands on the Fraser River in Richmond, with a marina at its edge and the Canada Line running past the door. That transit link matters: Vancouver's downtown is roughly twenty minutes north and the airport is closer still, which shapes who stays here.

The property pairs a hotel with a large theatre, a spa, several restaurants covering Cantonese, Japanese and steakhouse cooking, and extensive meeting space. Rooms in the newer tower are the larger of the two inventories.

A gaming floor operates within the resort, as one component of the building. Richmond's night market and the fishing village at Steveston are both nearby, and the river walk begins immediately outside.

Casino Rama Resort

Casino Rama sits on the Chippewas of Rama First Nation land near Orillia, about ninety minutes north of Toronto and within reach of the Muskoka lakes. It is a destination property rather than a city one; most guests are staying the night by design.

The hotel tower is joined by an entertainment centre that has hosted touring musicians for decades, a spa, and a spread of restaurants from buffet to fine dining. Golf courses and Lake Couchiching are close, and the resort leans on that in its summer programming.

Gaming occupies one floor of the complex. The First Nation ownership is part of the property's identity and is reflected in the artwork and naming throughout the public areas.
